Welcome to The GPVICTOR Site
|
|
This site is for people who love, admire, want, are curious about or are just interested in the BSA GP VICTOR motorcycle, a British built scrambles bike built in 1966 and 1967, replicas of a machine used by Jeff Smith to win the World 500cc Moto-Cross Championship in 1964 and 1965.

Here is my own GP:- this bike is totally original and is in "as found" condition apart from the addition of new fork spring covers and folding footrests.

- I own GPs #B44 216 and #B44 2241.Why not e-mail me and let me know what you have.216 is having some frame repairs at the moment to allow it to race with an ex-Barry Colson head and barrel - original GP items recovered by Mark Cook. He has re-instated the all alloy barrel and "nicosil" treated it.I have had a replica frame made to resemble as closely as possible the original (complete with header tank and the funny little twist in the frame tubes behind the motor). Only the very knowledgeable will detect the altered head angle and taper roller headstock bearings. We used the original forging for the engine cradle;the frame will be nickle plated by S&T.
- I am currently researching the history and whereabouts of the works Victors with the help of Vic Vaughan, a works supported rider from the 60s. We have obtained one of Vic's works bikes. We know of the whereabouts of some of the titanium bikes and would like to know more. If anyone has knowledge for example of magnesium parts, engines with an extra lug, steel re-inforced rear lugs, crankcases stamped CD or CDE I would be grateful to know. One of our contacts has a titanium 250 and is re-building a 500 but is missing a magnesium barrel - any help would be gratefully received.
